Recognizing Organic Fragments
This is a drill and practice exercise in recognizing the basic propyl, butyl and pentyl radicals.
When you press "New Strucure" a new window with a structure and 8 possible fragment names will
appear. The first time the window appears, it may obscure part of the scoring table. If so, simply drag the
window to an open area. It will remain in the new position for the remainder of the session. Click on the circle in front of the proper fragment. The results will appear in the table on the main page.
If you get an incorrect answer, you should retry the same compound.
- If you miss a problem three times, pressing the "Show Answer" button will cause the correct answer to appear.
